Wow. What a change from their early 7"s to this. I haven't heard any of their 1980 material (if there is any) but it'd be interesting to get the missing piece of progression. From oddball not-quite-new-wave, to what's more or less radio friendly powerpop(ish) on the A side. The B side brings back some familiar sounds with chord progressions that would fit on either of the first two EPs perfectly. It looks like David M. is the only original member at this point. Unless Jim French is the same Jimmy Hamelin from the prior EPs.

Nothing to note about the rip. A near mint record so nothing to cause any problems. If only everyone cared for their collection this much.

My least favourite of NO FUN's offerings. Their tracks on the Vancouver Complication take top spot, and the debut 7" (posted below) falls into second place. However, this is still a worthy 7" in the canon of early Vancouver punk. They also seem to be the reigning kings of long-as-fuck 7"s, this one clocking in at roughly fifteen minutes.

With this being a 33 year old punk record there's surprisingly little wrong with it. A bit of surface noise in the super-quiet parts (i.e. between tracks) and a couple ticks/pops near the end of "Cowtown".

After TIM RAY's debut single in late 1977, this is the first Vancouver "punk" 7" of any note. The following month D.O.A. would release their Disco Sucks EP and the rest is more widely known history from there. Though not technically a "Vancouver band" (they were from Surrey?, can't recall right now), they played in the city enough to get them a spot on the infamous Vancouver Complication compilation that would come out the following year on Pinned Records. Another 34 year old Vancover punk record. Some stray ticks and pops throughout, most of the major ones were manually removed. The rest remained to preserve audio quality. There's still a potential to really spend a lot of time manually removing all of them, but I think most people will just be happy to have this classic gem. Plus, I bet you've never heard a sixteen-and-a-half minute 7" before, hey?
