Infest - No Man's Slave (2002)

Artist(s): Infest
Title: No Man's Slave
Format: 12"
Year: 2002
Label/Catalog: Deep Six DS25

Borrowed this from a friend to rip as I got rid of my copy years ago. Ripping this made me rediscover how good it actually is. It's fucking great. So it's regrettable that I got rid of it, and as far as I recall this was actually my copy that I sold. Either way. This is what INFEST brought to the table and are in top form. Nothing dragging like the KXLU LP, just pure fucking speed and hatred.

Recorded in 1995 but not released until 2002.

There's some repeating surface noise at the beginning of side one, most noticeable in the intro sample, which is kind of annoying, but it goes away before too long and other than that there's no real problems to report with the rip.

NOTE: This record is the first to be ripped at a sample rate of 88.2khz which will be the new standard from now on.

  1. Its very fucking great, so great i got 4 copies of it 2 or 3 still unplayed 10 years later lol. that repeating surface noise is a mastering/pressing issue not just your copy. thanks for the v0. i saw in the info text you went from flac to v0. any chance of a flac? i would encourage flac for all your killer rips especially 24/96. thanks for everything.

  2. Good to know about the surface noise being a pressing issue, thanks for the heads up. I've uploaded a copy in FLAC for you here: http://www.mediafire.com/?dk004lakxfd9p18. I keep the 16/44 FLAC for personal listening but I find 24/96 to be excessive without a really good listening setup, and especially excessive for punk/hardcore records. New process is with 88.2 as it's double 44.1 (whereas 96 is double 48), which is the desired sample rate for what I'm doing, thus in theory causing less interpolation problems when downsampling. Key words being "in theory".

  3. Sweet thank you very much. i agree and i was gonna say that bout being excess but i figure what the hell hard drive space is so cheap nowadays. i love vinyl rips and multiple rips cuz every record quality is different as is the equipment to do it. thanks again and maybe someday i can get you back when i have the ability to rip vinyl. take care.

  4. Greetings. Thank you for the great Infest posts. Is there way you can post their 7" singles via 320 kbps? I am having a difficult time finding those in decent quality. Thank you!
