Infest - No Man's Slave (2002)

Artist(s): Infest
Title: No Man's Slave
Format: 12"
Year: 2002
Label/Catalog: Deep Six DS25

Borrowed this from a friend to rip as I got rid of my copy years ago. Ripping this made me rediscover how good it actually is. It's fucking great. So it's regrettable that I got rid of it, and as far as I recall this was actually my copy that I sold. Either way. This is what INFEST brought to the table and are in top form. Nothing dragging like the KXLU LP, just pure fucking speed and hatred.

Recorded in 1995 but not released until 2002.

There's some repeating surface noise at the beginning of side one, most noticeable in the intro sample, which is kind of annoying, but it goes away before too long and other than that there's no real problems to report with the rip.

NOTE: This record is the first to be ripped at a sample rate of 88.2khz which will be the new standard from now on.

Infest - Live KXLU (2001)

Artist(s): Infest
Title: Live KXLU
Format: LP
Year: 2001
Label/Catalog: Deep Six DS20

Recorded live on KXLU on July 1, 1991. The back of the LP states 12 tracks on side one, as far as I can tell there are indeed 12, just not how it says. I'm no INFEST expert, and the included lyric sheet doesn't even have half the songs on it, so figuring it out by that route is impossible. My findings are this: track A6 "Once Lost" also contains "You're A Star" played immediately after, which is why it is one band on the record. I do not believe "Just Act Blind" is included though the cover states as such.

At any rate, a decent rip. At the beginning of each side you can hear a reccuring noise, only in the right channel and it seems to go away before too long. When I initially started ripping this the right channel was much quieter than the left, so perhaps they turned it down for this reason. Everything else is great. Not much of the band talking, but the songs are good and the quality is nice.
