Dead Kennedys - Moral Majority (Live 1982)

Artist(s): Dead Kennedys
Title: Moral Majority (London 4th July 1982)
Format: LP
Year: ???? (recorded 1982)
Label/Catalog: HC Live Classics HCLC-009 (bootleg)

This is one of the quietest records I have ever heard. Quiet in terms of surface noise. Granted the only place to worry about that is at the beginning and end of each side since this is a continous cut, but it is dead silent. HC Live Classics, while being a bootleg label, generally do a good job in the end. Only major notes with this one is you hear the crowd at the end of A7 (Moral Majority) continued at the beginning of B1 (The Man With The Dogs) which subsequently fades out and then the song starts. I tried to play around with it a bit to have it all at the end of A7 but it wasn't working out, and for the sake of accurate archiving I left it untouched. Here then, is nearly 40 minutes of the DEAD KENNEDYS. There are some parts of the set that were cut (probably Jello's banter) as you can hear the change in recording. Other than that this is a great sounding set from a time when they had a ridiculous amount of momentum. Easy Bay Ray is out of character and actually gets pretty sloppy from time to time, but it's more than understandable with how FAST some of these songs are played here. Overall a great performance from one of my all-time favourite bands.
