D.O.A. - Triumph of the Ignoroids (1979)

Artist(s): D.O.A.
Title: Triumph of the Ignoroids
Format: 12"
Year: 1979
Label/Catalog: Friends FR-001

D.O.A. in the Body Shop at the first George Straight Battle of the Bands on June 23, 1978. Fairly good recording quality and the rip itself came out nicely. There are four pressings of this record. The first 12" in 1979, with a black and white cover, displayed Margaret Trudeau's woman part and "Let's Fuck" was "Let's F*ck". Second 12" pressing, which is what this rip is from, also from 1979 was a blue and white cover with Thatcher's snatch-er removed, the word "censored" placed dead centered on the cover, and "Let's F*ck" became "Let's **ck". Third press, from 1981, which is and isn't a bootleg restores everything the original had minus Thatcher exposed. It is a bootleg because the band didn't authorize it, has xeroxed (and blurred) covers, and blank labels. It isn't a bootleg because it was still released on Friends Records. The fourth press was in 1990 on Lady Kinky Karrot Records out of Germany on 7" format with a pink and white cover and a fifth track titled "Utopia". Exact details on that pressing are unknown to me, they don't go for a whole lot on the internet marketplace, so perhaps one day the mystery will be solved.

Some wild stuff for a 1978 battle of the bands. Tracks here are: "Nazi Training Camp", "Want Some Bondage", "Rich Bitch", and "Let's Fuck".

While these tracks were included on the "Greatest Shits" anthology from 1990 (and again in 2005), they omitted the intro to "Woke Up Screaming" which can be heard at the end of the A-side, and that is why, folks, this rip is here. A whopping 25 seconds of material not officially released in 33 years.

First release on Friends Records which would later go on to do the first two D.O.A. albums, along with stuff from the Subhumans, Secret V's, and a handful of other things.

David M from NO FUN lent the 4-track and the final tape was mixed by Ron Obvious.
